ALI Convenes Discussion on Supply Chains and Data

ALI members only event

Speakers:

  1. Congressman Colin Allred, (TX-32)

  2. Dr. Monica Gorman, Special Assistant to the President, Manufacturing and Industrial Policy, White House

ALI hosted a group of experts to discuss the role of data in building resilient supply chains. Participants recognized efforts by both Congress and the Administration in this area, including the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), the CHIPS and Science Act, and the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, as well as the Executive Order on America’s Supply Chains. Much learning has come out of the past few years of supply chain disruptions from COVID-19 and the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and both the government and the private sector looking at ways to increase the use of data to drive transparency and resiliency through supply chains. Key questions going forward will be how to create common language around standards, how to incentivize the private sector toward increased resiliency, and how use data to increase the visibility of labor and environmental conditions through the many tiers of a supply chain.
