He served as Chief of Staff Leon Panetta when he was the Director of the CIA (2009-2011) and the Secretary of Defense (2011-2013).

Matt Bennett

Matt Bennet is a co-founder of the center left think tank, Third Way. Matt worked on both of the presidential campaigns of Bill Clinton, served as Deputy Assistant to the President for Intergovernmental Affairs in the Clinton White House, where he was the principal White House liaison to governors and covered issues ranging from disaster response to Medicaid to immigration. Prior to that, Matt traveled with Vice President Al Gore on his White House staff. He was Director of Communications for Wesley Clark's presidential campaign in 2004, and from 2001-2004 he was Director of Public Affairs for Americans for Gun Safety.

Prior to joining Third Way, Mieke had a career on Capitol Hill, most recently serving as Chief of Staff to Representative Anna Eshoo (D-CA). Prior to that, she was the Defense Policy Advisor to Senator Kennedy, the Subcommittee Staff Director on the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, and a Professional Staff Member on the House Armed Services Committee.

Claude Fontheim is the CEO of Fontheim International, LLC and Co-founder of the GlobalWorks Foundation. Mr. Fontheim advises clients regarding global corporate social responsibility and public policy.  He has over 30 years of experience in these fields and was among the first CSR practitioners. Mr. Fontheim previously served on the President’s Advisory Committee on Trade Policy and Negotiations, the U.S. Trade Representative’s Trade Advisory Committee on Africa, and the State Department’s Advisory Committee on International Economic Policy.
