Meeting the Challenges of a New World Disorder was a particularly apt theme for ALI’s 3rd Annual Summit. The Summit opened with a discussion of the challenges to America’s technology sector created by tariffs, restrictions on immigration and slashes to R&D, and how these policies are helping China develop its own technology sector. The retreat went on to discuss Navigating the China Challenge and American Competitiveness, and The Tariff Reckoning: Can Globalization Survive. The day concluded with a conversation between Senator Elissa Slotkin and former Pentagon and CIA Chief, Jeremy Bash.
A central theme of the Summit was the urgent need to start developing a new agenda for rebuilding American global leadership, while addressing the needs of the American workers.
